During Xbox Games Showcase we've not only learned that Microsoft will be releasing Flight Simulator 2024 on 19 november 2024, but we've also seen new (and existing footage) of MSFS2024 in a newly released trailer.
The trailer features breathtaking visuals, showcasing a variety of landscapes, weather conditions, and aircraft. It provided a first look at some of the new career paths and missions that will be available, including aerial firefighting, search and rescue operations, and cargo transport.
Be amazed to see detailled 3D trees, dynamic weather effects and more.
A team of over 500 people are working at Asobo and Microsoft to make Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 the best edition of this long lasting franchise ever. We know that the following features will be included or improved (compared to MSFS2020) in MSFS2024:
Microsoft has shown a screenshot of the detail of the Grand Canyon in MSFS2024 during their November, 23 developer stream. Thanks to reddit-user simtom we're able to compare the level of detail between MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. Take notice of sharp and defined cliffs which can be seen in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, where these aren't visible in MSFS2020.

Almost all aircraft purchased on the official MSFS2020 marketplace will be compatible with Flight Simulator 2024.

During a keynote presentation at FSExpo 2023 (Houston, TX), we've learned that one of the big improvements of Flight Simulator 2024 will be the loading times.
More data will be downloaded from the cloud during flight, so only the absolute neccesary files needs to be installed.
Almost all aspects of the simulation will be improved by the development team, including improved aerodynamics and physics, improved airplane systems and better avionics. There also will be several improvements to scenery, i.e. improved ground details (including 3D trees), improved sea- and ground traffic and the introduction of seasons.

As someone who plays MSFS 2020 on the Xbox Series X, I purchased the "Premium" upgrade over the "free" version received through Game Pass. The premium upgrade came with additional planes, challenges, scenery updates, airports, etc., Will everything I have received through the premium upgrade, and all the additional planes I have purchased, need to be paid for again to play MSFS 2024 when that arrives via Game Pass?
We haven't seen any statement about this yet, but as all MSFS2020 add-ons purchased via the marketplace will also be available in MSFS2024, we expect this will be the case for the deluxe and premium deluxe aircraft as well.
With the new career path, do you know if players will start basic and overtime after doing jobs, we'll get better planes? is there a money management system where players earn money from jobs?
At this moment there isn't much information about carreer mode.
What we do know is that you have to get the proper licenses to fly in a particular plane. You start with a small aircraft, before you can fly the bigger ones.
